What It Is
A working board for the second half
The Fire Remains gathers eight to ten accomplished men into one room that meets a full working session every month. Not a fellowship, not a study group, not a networking lunch — a working board. You bring the real issues — the hard call at work, the strain at home, the decision you cannot yet see clearly — and the men meet them with experience, not sympathy: each has stood near where you stand, and tells you what he faced and what he did about it.
It works for the same reason men pay for the best boards in the country — a sharper leader makes better calls, catches the blind spots sooner, and protects and grows what he has built. You stop deciding alone.
What sets this room apart is what sits beneath it. Every man at the table shares your Catholic faith — so you never check your convictions at the door. The counsel you get and the men you trust hold the same line you do, which means you can speak plainly and never wonder whether the input cuts against what you believe.
And it is built for one season — the second half. Generally fifty and older, when the decisions are heaviest and the questions get harder than the first half ever asked. The filter is season, responsibility, and readiness.
How It Works

The Watch
One long working session each month — roughly five hours, in person. Brief check-ins, deep work on one or two men's real issues, and rapid experience-share — what we have lived, never advice handed down.
The Chair
A trained Chair guards the room and holds the discipline. The founding San Antonio Table is led by the founder himself.
The Counsel
Each month you also sit one-to-one with your Chair for your Monthly Counsel — the hour turned entirely to you: your hardest calls at work, at home, and in your faith, the commitments you have made, and the next move.

He is the author of Rethink Happy. For over fifteen years he has sat in and led the country’s top peer-advisory rooms — as a chapter president, an area leader, and a member of several executive advisory groups.
He built The Fire Remains because the rooms that sharpened the first half of his life had little to say about the second — and because the best of them asked him to leave his faith at the door. He attends daily Mass, has been married for more than thirty years, is father of five, and has three grandchildren… so far.
