About
Doug Kisgen
Founder, The Fire Remains

The Fire Remains is an organization of Catholic men in the second half of life who refuse to coast.
It exists for one purpose: to help its members become saints in the second half of life — in the years the world calls “winding down” and the Church has always called the most concentrated heat of the whole fire.
Doug Kisgen is the founder. The organization grew out of his work in Catholic men’s formation and the writing of Embers: The Seven Pillars — a framework for the second half built around Fire, Friendship, and Finish.
The Fire Remains Way
Fire. Friendship. Finish.
Fire — the interior life. The condition of the soul in the second half.
Friendship — the wife, the friends, the family, the prodigal. Every bond worth keeping.
Finish — the third-act vocation and the holy death.
The Seven Pillars: Fire · Foundation · Diligence · Hearth · Vigil · Mission · Endurance.
