For men called to lead, not just belong

Bring The Fire Remains to Your City

The Fire Remains is built one Table at a time, and every Table needs a Chair — a proven leader who guards the room, guides the men in it, and gives each of them a monthly hour that is his alone. If you have felt the pull to build something like this where you live, we want to hear from you.

San Antonio is first, and the founding Table there is forming now, led by the founder himself. As it takes root, we intend to open other cities — deliberately, not all at once. If you want to bring this to where you live, tell us now. We would rather know who you are before we know exactly when your city is ready.

What a Chair Does

The guardian of the room.

Not a lecturer, a therapist, a consultant, or a spiritual director.

Leads the Watch. One full working session a month, in person, for a permanent Table of eight to ten men.
Gives the Monthly Counsel. A private coaching hour with each member every month — his hardest calls at work, at home, and in his faith.
Guards the gate. Recruits and evaluates every candidate for his Table. A Chair protects the room by protecting who sits at it.
Is trained and certified. Every Chair is formed through the Forge before he leads his first Watch, and stays connected to a standing corps of fellow Chairs after.

This is a second-half vocation as much as it is a role — a way to multiply what you have learned in thirty years of leadership by pouring it into other men who are asking the same questions you once did.

Who We’re Looking For

A guide, not a guru.

A proven leader in his own right. The same stature and second-half responsibility we look for in every member — a man other accomplished men will respect and follow.
A mature, serious Catholic faith. The foundation of the room, not a feature of it.
The temperament to guard a room, not run it. A guide, not a guru. The Watch belongs to the men in it; the Chair holds the discipline that makes it work.
Willing to be trained and held to a standard. Certification through the Forge is required of every Chair, without exception.

Where We Are Now

We are early, and we would rather tell you that plainly.

The founding San Antonio Table is forming now, and the founder is leading it himself — by design, so that no man is ever asked to lead a Table the founder has not first led. As that Table proves out, we will open additional cities deliberately, not all at once, and not on a fixed timeline.

Expressing interest today does not commit you to anything, and it does not commit us to a city, a date, or a role. It puts you on the list of men we call first when a metro is ready.

The Path

A short, honest form.

Not an application, and not a job posting.

This goes to Doug personally. The Fire Remains runs no email lists and no drip campaigns.

What Happens Next

Doug reads every inquiry himself. If the timing and the fit look right, he will reach out to start a real conversation. If your city isn’t ready yet, or the season isn’t right, he will tell you that honestly — and keep your name for when it is. Either way, it is a personal reply, not the start of a sequence.

By 2036, a thousand Tables of Catholic men who change the Church and the country by how they live and die.

Ignis manet.  ·  The fire remains.
